Monday Message 9th January 2012
Happy New Year! We trust that the Xmas break provided some quality time for relaxation, reflection and family fun.
By way of reflection, 2011 was an extremely good year for Key Business Partners, all things considered:
we worked for 15 customers (to each, a sincere Thank You)
of the 15; five provided 80% of revenue
3 of the 15 were new customers; located between Queensland(manufacturing) and Southland (wood processing)
We look forward to being of service in 2012..best wishes for a positive and successful year in every way.

26 years ago last Saturday, on 28 January 1986, the space shuttle "Challenger" exploded spectacularly over Florida after a rubber O-ring in the booster engine failed. All crew were lost.
Which illustrates the principle that when there is a weak link, a chain or a system is not made stronger by strengthening other links.
For the space shuttles there could be no gain by making the booster engines stronger, if the O-ring was weak. Similarly, better communications, more crew training, or improved crew selection could not offset this one fatal flaw.
Thus the business challenge: to be sufficiently aware via wisdom and risk management process to identify the weak links; so that those mission critical elements in the system can be strengthened.

With holidays passed for most people; it is nice to reflect on fun activities over the Xmas break. Top of my list was the Waitomo Caves:
Ruakuri (one of a number that can be visited) is a NZ tourism experience we can all be proud of..it's not Switzerland but is an interesting engineering feat spiralling down into this spectacular limestone cave...along with sage commentary from a memorable guide.
Then staying overnight at the pleasantly mellow Waitomo Top 10 motor camp; just over the road from a Speights bar and then breakfast at the quaint Waitomo Country Store.
