Contour Map Text
Start with a plain white page. Select
Filter » Noise » Add Noise... from the menu. Set the values
similar to the ones in the illustration:
Add some large black text to the image. Use the Type Mask Tool.
You'll need to click and hold on the T on the Tools panel.
When the different Text tools pop up, choose the hollow dotted T.
Click on the image, and fill in some large, centered text. Use
the Paint Bucket Tool (press K) to fill the selection with black.
Choose Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur with a value of about
7 pixels. Use Ctrl+Shift+L to brighten up the levels.
Use Image » Adjust » Posterize with a value
of about 10.
Give the text some nice colour using the
Hue/Saturation dialog (Ctrl+U). Set the values similar to the
illustration:
Use Filter » Stylize » Emboss with these values:
Use Filter » Fade Emboss...
to produce the finished text:
